Looking for a part number (climate control)

Hi everyone.

I need a little help here : I am looking for the climate control sensor for my 1985 targa. I'm talking about the small part that's hidden in the little rubber cap between both sun visors.

The part I'm looking for looks a bit like a small bulb.

Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about the interior temperature sensor, I thought that those were NLA. I've also heard that used ones sell for a lot of money.

Thermister

Nico911, Javadog is correct, NLA for this item. Search for a thread on A/C Auto Temp Sensor. There is one for an out sourced item that can be used. I'll start hunting for it.

I have one but it's for one of my cars and I really wasn't planning on selling it. I might do so for the right offer but I don't know what that would be. I'd guess it would be in line with what I'd have to pay in the future to replace it.

Nico911, search for a posting by "86 911 Targa" parts listing is 911 659 105 01 posting says still available from factory (Germany) that was in 2011. I know there is a post about an outside sourced item also.

If the issue is the thermistor, here's a replacement part:

Good luck,

That looks more like a penny than a temp sensor...

Umm the thing is : I want heat, but it does not work. There might be something wrong with the automatic control unit. The heating system does not work since I have the car last year, and I remove the a/c compressor a few months ago.

So I'm asking myself if that sensor controls the heating or the a/c, or both, and I hope I didn't mess anything by removing the a/c compressor...

Any input welcome guys.

It only controls the heat.

I think Porsche Classic is starting to manufacture them again.

New Editions - Classic Genuine Parts & Technical Literature - Porsche Classic - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG

Is this the part?

If you're talking about 911 659 101 01, that's not the right one. That's the sensor that goes in the flapper box.
