Boge vs bilstein struts

well I just got a set of front strut inserts from TRE-tyson today...for the 73 targa...

the struts on it now seem to be boge...they are black.

TRE told me that the bilsteins inserts should fit fine...

but my question is what is the difference between the 2-boge and bilstien

I got an offer from a guy for some bilstien struts...should I buy or just paint the struts yellow to match the inserts?

then another question is what is the difference between yellow and green bilstien struts and inserts?

thanks

MJ

If I'm correct in my thinking, the Boge struts will accept either the bilstein or koni inserts, that's what makes them cool. The koni and bilstein struts only accept inserts of their brand. I'd just keep the struts black and use whatever inserts you like the best.

As a matter of fact I'm looking for some boge struts from an S, SC or Carerra...anyone know of any for sale?

Nathan

Bilstein and koni make inserts for boge struts, but they do not interchange with the part that goes into their own struts. Be sure to order the correct ones.

In general green = HD, yellow = sport. Other threads have indicated this is not reliably true.
