CIS to MFI conversion
I have a 73.5T coupe that I am building up a slightly modified 2.4S MFI engine for. I know I need to change the fuel filter and maybe the fuel pump, but what about the wiring harness? I have the wiring harness for the MFI engine, can I just plug it into the console and Vroom vroom? Anything else?
Thanks! BK |

MFI cars have a "Speed Switch" in the console and an additional wire in the 14-pin connector that runs to the solenoid on the pump. The purpose of this is to cut off the fuel when the throttle plates are closed on overrun. Shouldn't be that hard to obtain/fabricate although the switch is a little pricey, like $250?

Thanks John! I forgot to mention I have an MFI console as well. I guess what I was wondering is if the main wiring harness is the same for either car. Maybe I should look at the manuals!
82SC: It's probably going to be a couple of months before I install the engine. Too many other priorities right now! But I will keep you updated. BK |
