Another Problem...

Well, I've found many errors in the spec books, but I've just come across some missing information! Anyone have any idea where I might find the following valuable information?

Piston Top Ring
- Groove Dimensions / tolerances
- Ring Dimensions / tolerances
- for all 911s 1975-89

Piston Middle Ring
- Groove Dimensions / tolerances
- Ring Dimensions / tolerances
- for all 911s 1975-89

Piston Oil Seal Ring
- Groove Dimensions / tolerances
- Ring Dimensions / tolerances
- for all 911s 1975-89

Cylinder to Crankcase Dimensions
- Shaft
- Bore

Cylinder to Cylinder Head Dimensions
- Shaft
- Bore

???

the ring grooves vary between mahle and schmidt in the early years, and are mostly 1.5/ 1.5/ 4.0 in later years. the ring side clearance and wear limit is listed in section 1, page 6.1-4/1 in the 1st volume of the factory repair manuals. the end gaps are also listed on the previous page.
on the cylinder/crankcase dimensions, what do you mean by "shaft"?

Hello

Errors in the factory spec books ( typen, masse, toleranzen ) ?

Most specs are covered and descriped in the factory manuals but you need the complete set from 65 on ( if something was covered in the previous volume it will not show up on later volumes, only if something changed ). Just look for the 0 sections ( technical data ) and for the spec section in each undersection.

Wayne? I think Roland may know more, when it comes to details of more than a few years ago, than 95% of the people at the factory....he's a valuable resource, methinks...
