911 Technical Parking Moment

I swear... empty motel lot when I went to bed. Next morning there were about three more cars. Is it just me?

What IS IT with people?

Forgot the hit & run at the Air & Space museum. I suspect I was hit by a Toyota.

If you're gonna' drive it like a DD then people will treat it like a DD. I really believe that people are a-holes on purpose a lot of the time. They see a nice car, parked by itself, and purposely park right next to it and close just to piss-off the other guy. The Toyota driver may have backed into your Targa on purpose just to get a dig in. Hey, you drive a Porsche so you must be "rich." BAM! Just like Fletch with the tennis racket at the country club: BAM.

Just be lucky!

That you don't have the 14 inch wide rear tires and flares!

I came out of a motel one morning to see someone walking with their kid who was "driving" his hotwheels car down the sides of cars parked in the parking lot! The people walking with their kid corrected him when they saw me unlocking my car which was only a couple away from destruction on wheels. Another guy walking out wasn't as lucky as he saw the kid go down the side of his car and confronted them. It seems as if some people don't care about other's property or they are simply oblivious to their ways.....or don't care what their kids do in this case. To the OP.....I feel your pain!

Had the same thing happen at a hotel. Not only was a big SUV right next to me, it gave me a fairly large door ding from their passenger door. Man I was pissed.

Hey, hey, hey. Don't go blaming the Toyotas. They are the good guys. We are out searching for a guilty Atoyot.

Hey the chicken or the egg!

The Toyota or the Porsche! Which one parked first? We need his side of the story! When I CSI that photo! #1 first suspicious of it being a staged shot! Then the angle of the Porsche is suspect also! Almost baiting the Toyota driver in (unless it is one that can now park itself). Maybe the Toyota driver is a tennis referee or was out with the Porsche Owner getting intoxicated and couldn't see a straight line, let alone walk a straight line, and definitely not park in a straight line. I wonder if getting some magnetic door handicap signs would help, but my long racing wheel studs with the chariot spikes helps deter this behavior. I do believe the Toyota is parked very parallel to the Porsche on this one. Yes I have appointed myself Judge and Jury on this one! Naturally the Toyota is guilty until proven innocent!

A person I know was in Las Vegas and parked at the hotel. Came out in the morning and found a HUGE lifted 4x4 squeezed into the motorcycle parking spot next to his car, with half the truck over the curb into the landscaping. Plus, a very large dent in his car passenger car door from the truck's driver side door.
This was totally on purpose, no other way to explain it. Tried to locate owner, hotel had no record.
The car repair bill was $350, but my buddy said the truck driver needed a couple of new tires that day, at about twice that dollar mount.

People are *******s. People with kids seem to be even worse about not respecting a nice or new car. I forgot why I hated driving a new car until recently when I bought my girlfriend a new Passat, left it at a parking lot and some smuck left their rug rat scratch lines all over the side with a piece of gravel. Had I caught them I would have beat their parents ass or kicked off the mirrors.

This is the reason I refuse to paint my 911. No one cares about my beat up 911 or my old 87 4runner... They never scratch it, frankly they are scared to park next to the Toyota...
I'll go to jail for beating that *******s for scratching up my new car or paint job. Sorry rant over.... Yes people suck. I want to add a camera to each corner so I can catch the idiots, ideas? I think 12,000volts of teeth shaking electricity might work. They do sell plans for such things.

My CSI investigation skills says it had to be a car from DELAWARE. hope that narrows it down for you. A Toyota front Delaware. ha

why you ask??? because

Delaware does not have raised license plate letters and you have an impression from the Toyota license plate frame but nothing from the plate????

hmmmm suspect!

Its not just you. I always try and park away from everyone else, walking the extra distance.

When I come back. inevitably cars are badly parked around it and I fear for dents and scratches. Porsches seem to make it worse as they don't fill the parking spot thereby inviting even more careless parking.

You are correct in that cars with kids are the worst culprits. Never park next to a SUV with child seats in the back. My family wagon has scratches down the sides which can only be kids dragging toys / sticks / whatever along cars at toddler height. No doubt parents laughed and said 'isn't he/she cute'?

It's funny how lots of people tell me 'oh my kids trash my car, what can you do?'. Funny, my kids help me wash and polish mine, and know never to eat food inside, kick the seats, etc etc.

When I insured my car the insurance company said 911's are the worlds most vandalized car. I won't leave mine anywhere I can't see it. Not very practical but that's the world we live in.

I used to come out to my car and there would be kids sitting on it. Only my car, not the other dozen in the lot.

I started covering my car when ever I left it for any length of time. End of problem.

I took my other car to a VW show and when I got back to the spot I parked there was a kid in the drivers seat , The parents said he wanted to feel like he was driving and wanted his picture, I was like gut your own car if he wants to play and next time ask if he can get in.
