rebuilding bilsteins

I read somewhere that bilstein will rebuild your shocks if they are able.

Seems like it was about 1/2 of new.

Has anyone had this done; results?

Planning my winter projects now.

This is for my front 82 SC.

My records show rears done about 5-6 years ago, 20k on them.

My front end is showing signs of weak front shocks.

Thanks for any info.

Yes, I had the brand new Bilstein Cup racing shocks on my track car rebuilt w/ digressive valves and rates specific to the springs and car weight and usage.

It was only ~$100 +/- and done at Bilstein San Diego. Some shops have an in that can reduce turn around times but w/o that it's best left to winter downtime maintenance.

Pretty much all modern and high end shocks come w/ digressive valves but 911 Bilsteins are a legacy design that can greatly benefit form a rebuild even when new.

I've also had this done, but not for the Porsche. I had an RoW BMW 323i (E21) with Alpina suspension, which included custom valved Bilsteins. When they went bad, new ones for 323i were NLA, even with the normal Bilstein valving. So I had the Alpina units rebuilt. Turned out great. Highly recommended.

I'm going to look at having my Carrera units done with digressive in a few years.
