CIS: what is this?

Hi -

I've been trying to track down a high warm idle (1200 rpms) and read about the AAV. During hunting saw this (probably decel valve). Is that correct? If it's removed from the system how should the vacuum lines be routed?

The more I dig into this car the more it surprises me.

Vacuum line to decel valve is missing.

Garage
the decel valve is normally closed and the large lines blocked until the vacume from decelerating opens it to allow more air through and prevent poping from being rich. it could cause high idle if stuck open or the diaphram is punctured but thats more a symptom of the aar which is bottom left of your picture

Should I be connecting those. 2 thicker tubes together to rule out the decel valve sticking slightly open?

The two big hoses are fine as they are. But you do have to close the small hole at the top.
