correct part name 86 cab

I'm trying to order a few parts and can't seem to find one. I would call it a grommet, bezel or trim piece that goes around the handle you twist to lock the top down. Can't find it in the pelican parts catalog. Is it even available? Mine is there but has a crack in it.

Well, when the German are not sure what to call a part, its either "Escutcheon" or Rossette"

It says for Targa but they are listed in the Cab section, last part on: 1983 Porsche 911 SC Convertible - Convertible Parts - Page 2

911-565-280-61 (70B). RIGHT

It took me a while too, but these are the deal.

I saw the listing but it says "Targa". Are they the same on a Cab?

I bought those two parts I mentioned above a couple of years ago and put them on my cab (mine were cracked, too). Perfect. Mine is an '87, but it should be the same.

Tim,

The only time you see them is when the top is up, so I would not bother.

I had my car for 4 years, North of the border and had the top up 4 times. I drove in December @ 32 Fahrenheit with the top down with the heat on the foot with no problems.

Now that you will be buying parts, BTDT still doing it, if there is a Porsche dealership close by, on small parts and many other, they are often the cheapest one, 10% discount if you are a PCA member and will match price when ask. 2 days free delivery.

Just so you know, the 911 used parts for sale/wanted can be your friend. Even with small parts. There are some great guys here that if they don't need it and it doesn't cost much will give you parts for the cost of shipping. I've benefited from the generosity of others and tried to pay it forward myself. You'll find this is a pretty great community.

Rosette

I just ordered one for my 86 Cab. I assume you need the escutcheon that has "ZU" und "AUF" on it. I haven't got it yet, but I'm hoping it's the correct one.
911 565 280 70B is the black one. Fingers crossed.

These are the parts...just be sure you ordered the correct side (right and left are different). On the other hand, order the other side also for when the original of that side cracks...

Both numbers still show to be available but 1 side lists for $15.68 and the other is 8.23. Past experience on price differences like that usually indicates one has been discontinued but still in the system for reference only. Will know by Friday.
