Fan strap HELP!
Can anyone please tell me how to remove the fan strap on my 82SC as I just want to power coat it.

Fan Strap
Once you get the fan and housing out of the way, remove the distributor. To make it easier to reassemble, set the distributor at #1 with the engine at TDC. Then you will have to bend the strap a bit to get it to slide out of the slots in the block. Any paint finish will likely get some damage when re-installing the strap. You would probably be better off buying a new strap from PP!
