Issue when ordering parts
I'm in the middle of my build and placed a huge order with our host ($4k plus). During the ordering time, my cart showed that everything was available or would ship within 3 days. I received a delay email from Pelican, and when I asked for an ETA I got the following:
"I'm sorry but we don't have an idea of when these parts are going to arrive. We will be more than happy to let you know once we have an idea though." Bare in mind I placed an order August which was supposed to ship in 9 days and until today I haven't received a confirmation on when the parts would arrive. When I asked them to drop the parts and ship the rest, they stalled for another 2 weeks and then shipped partially. I am still not clear as to whether they will charge me for shipping the rest of the parts, if they ever do. I won't bore you with the series of useless stalling emails I've received. I am quite frustrated and if the website showed the true shipping time I would've gone elsewhere. It seems like they trap me into ordering and then I have no way out. Anyone else faced this issue before? I am way out in the Middle East and I pay alot ($500+) on shipping each order and would prefer not to get multiple shipments and pay a fortune.

You should direct your query to the Host president, Wayne R. Dempsey. He's on the board here somewhere as moderator.

When I order, I like to have a voice.....my ride is so modified across many model years that I never get what I need from the web.
Call and talk to customer service.

I get the run-around on email so I'm not sure a call would help. I am curious if the shipping times on the website are real or not, and how come customer service have no idea when the parts will arrive! Its very open ended and I can't just hang around hoping and wishing. The funny part is that half the stuff on the list came back as "unavailable". If it was 1 or 2 I'd understand.

Well if you're not sure a call will help but you won't try that approach, what do you want from any of us?
Ten minutes on the phone is going to be much more efficient and accurate than back and forth emails that you say aren't working anyway. Same behavior, same results, uh, yeah! |

Yes certainly do give them a call. I do understand what you mean though, sometimes the larger companies become, the more challenging it gets to actually speak with a real person who knows their stuff.
I recently ordered from Porsche Parts, Spares And Porsche Accessories: Retail And Trade: National; Worldwide Delivery | Design 911 in the UK and they seemed extremely efficient. cheers, from NZ |

I have ordered mega thousands of dollars of parts over the years. Never a problem at all. Pelican has great customer service. They will get it straightened out soon I am sure.
Even the best companies have a bad day.
