				matching front to rear tires

Been running Pirelli P Zero Direzionales 205/55 zr16 up front with P zero Asimmetrico 225/50 zr16 in the back. Had heck of a time finding replacement fronts only to find the rears are pretty much not available. Both sets need replacing. I'd originally thought I could hold onto the rears a bit longer, but no. Trying to not mismatch too badly, since the Direzionales are about to arrive, what does anyone think about running Pirelli Cinturato P7 in the back? I feel like staying in the Pirelli family is most likely to keep the car happy.

I have always heard that you should match front and rears if possible, and if not possible then stay within the same brand. When I bought the 88 it had different brands front and rear. It drove just fine, but then I never get near the limits in street driving. Personally I think that mounting the proper size is most important.

I'm now on my 6th set of tires on my 911, since I've owned the car. I switched brands/models a few times to try our other brands. The performance and handling between the different brands was very noticeable. Even when I kept the same brand but changed model, the change was very noticeable. That said, I would use the same brand/model front and. rear. | ||

I don't drive my SC anywhere near the limits, so miss-matched fronts to rears don't mean anything to me. I always keep left to right the same age/tread depth the same of course.

I've contacted Pirelli USA about my dilemma. Let's see what they say!

Lots of high performance options out there if you are willing to switch it up to a 200 wear rating tire. Overkill for the street, but fun, and on a weekend car, will last a long time. Bridgestone RE-11A's (my choice)
