did you powder coat your engine tin work or is that just spray paint ?

looks very nice.

I brought the engine tin to the powder coater they blast is and then coat it, pretty basic. The engine shroud is painted with 2 stage ppg. and the aluminum stuff was bead blasted and then painted with POR 15 clear for bare metal

thanks

Nice Work

Just finished spraying the trunk in single stage PPG. I was torn about even doing it at all, because there is so much to do. I ended up just taping up the wiring, as I did not want to pull the whole mess out. I forgot to pull the ground cable out, and did not notice it until I started spraying there and by then it was to late :(

Got it painted this past weekend, letting the paint cure before sand and buff. Got the front suspension done, brake calipers are all being rebuilt as I speak. Unfortunately my engine fell off the stand and broke one of my carbs  so I am really in need of a 40 IDA 3C1 for the drivers side if you know of anyone with one please let me know I have just posted on the classified board. just put the elephant racing finned oil lines on, kind of, zip ties until I make the rubber backing for the mounting clamps. Also put on the engine compartment decals and VIN decal from "noboco" they do look very nice, much nicer than the tired old ones that were in there before. Thru the hood fuel tank should be done in the next couple days :)

Got the oil cooler almost situated, probably should have done this a while ago but oh well. I need to get a 15 and 45 for the side with a straight AN fitting on it now the straight is going to have to much kink in it. Some heat shrink for the fan wiring, mount a switch in the dash and I think I will be finished with that.

Thanks Carter, did you ever get that exhaust put on your car? how do you like it?

flyn-hawn 03-05-2015 07:13 PM

Got the exhaust back and installed, black ceramic coated. Repainted my old muffler it works but is cosmetically challenged don't know what I will do about that. Got rear shocks and sway bar on , got ride height done. Finish painting this weekend, bumpers. Waiting on carb to come and rebuild it then off to shop for alignment carb synch/adjust/time

Love the wheel color almost looks like dow7 if they were dull. Sorry old hot rod guys know what I am talking about. In SD wish I could afford it.

Looks great.

vintagecarlover 03-05-2015 07:48 PM

Too nice. Not used to that so pls add dirt dust and debris so this car is believable. Right now. Unbelievable

71scgc 03-06-2015 04:09 AM

Dave, haven't installed the muffler, or done much else with the car. I'm kinda at a crossroads with it... not sure if I'll continue on or sell off.
I'm in negotiations about a long time dream car of mine and could use the space.

Carter
