Hi gang i have low idle problem i cant figure out. i have new WUR fuel accumulator .then one day on my way to work about 6 blks down the road the idle dropped to 600 rpm from 1000 rpm. i tried to turn up the idle screw but it just seemed to make a loud air noise. I replaced the vac lines from the dist and WUR .Also cold start has no fast idle and pops and coughs at about 90 degrees start up. but it runs strong at speed. any ideas? thanx for your help !

Did it just start doing this all of a sudden? Sounds like a big vacuum leak maybe.

Hello
Secound vacuum leak. Did it start with the new WUR ? Did someone set the fuel mixture ? How good are your ignition parts looking ? Grüsse, Roland |

Well, lets think about this. Idle at 100 rpm went to 600 rpm. adjusted idle screw more air no increase in rpm.
If you are sucking more air than gas during idle there is a air leak between your air sensor plate and the throttle body, but it is not large enough to have an effect on the operation of the engine other than the idle. This could be your vacuume advance line, the air box could have a crack in it, the hose for the auxillary air regulator may be leaking, the hose to the thermo valve may be the problem, the hose to the control pressure regulator could be the culprit, or the hoses to the deceleration valve may be leaking.
