Thanks for the link Brian. Looks like a great run.

Any weekend in Jan. works for me! I interested in attending a DE at VIR, and have absolutely no experience whatsoever. I was thinking that a PCA sponsered DE would be better for a novice, but am now curious about the THSCC event that Brian referenced. Anyone have any recommendations..."jump on in", wait for a PCA event, etc? Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, and can't wait for the Jan. drive!

briankeithsmith 12-23-2002 08:20 AM

I would say attend the THSCC event.

The only downside to this event is that you will only get 3 sessions per day. However, as a newbie to the track, this will be enough to overwhelm you more than likely.

17 turns to memorize.

Brian

Ok lets get this thing scheduled and in the works.

I say 1/25 is the weekend. Lets vote

Halm 12-28-2002 06:49 AM

Omar, I agree completely. We'll announce a firm date on Monday or Tuesday.

Trent P. 12-28-2002 08:18 AM

Cool!

That date should be good for me. Plus, as an extra added bonus feature, we can celebrate my birthday, too (the 26th)! Please, don't feel the need to go out and buy presents. Cash or certified check will do just fine.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/ura.gif

Plus, that will give me time to straighten out the "frown" in my front valance. Can't wait to go!

PRAY FOR GOOD WEATHER

Ok. Our 2nd Drive is now officially rescheduled for Saturday, January 25th.

Nothing is changed except the date. We'll meet in Statesville as originally planned at 9:30 AM just of exit 150 (I-40). It looks to be a great route and we should have a blast, assuming we get decent weather.

WWW.Go-Michael.Com/Drive2 is still up and we'll post changes and more details there as they develop.

sounds great to me. I haven't gotten my work schedule for the new semester but I more than likely have saturday's off.

Count me in.

Tim

Jon Merck 12-30-2002 04:56 PM

Great, I'll be there!

racemor 12-30-2002 07:14 PM

I'll be there. Although, I have not had much luck with weather lately. I got caught with the 911 in Boone over Christmas during the snow and power outages. Maybe I should stay home??

KFC911 12-31-2002 05:50 AM

Count me in! Tim, if yours isn't road-ready by then, I should have an available passenger seat on the 25th.

osidak 12-31-2002 07:05 AM

Count me in for the drive as well. Where does the charlotte crew wish to meet up for the drive up to Statesville?

Also some one going on the drive wanted some old Euro Tail lenses, who was that?

Have a happy new year

osidak -

That was me.

We might want to reconsider the date....

Hal, Omar, Keith, Tom, Tim, et al,

We might want to reconsider the date. I just got an e-mail from Harvey Yancey (membership chair at Carolina's PCA), and they are planning a special (FREE!) Mid-winter Track Seminar that day at Victory Lanes sponsored by Eurowerks. I'd REALLY like to go to that (as I'm sure others would), so maybe since our "drives" are flexible, we can reschedule for another date. What d'ya think?

If any of you are interested in info on the event, let me know and I'll forward the info to you.

racemor 01-02-2003 06:12 PM

I just got the email also. I'm open to changing, but don't care either way. You all make the call.

osidak 01-02-2003 07:29 PM

I saw that seminar and honestly wasn't to interested. Sounds like all it will be is a talk and drawing on some boards.

The carting is an additional fee and there is no actual track time given.

I would rather drive. But I am open to change as long as it isn't on the 18th and not to close to March as my wife is due at the first of the month.

Tim Walsh 01-02-2003 08:14 PM

I just got my schedule for this semester and I'm up for anything as long as it's on a saturday..

I think the event you mentioned was discussed earlier. So, let's stay with Saturday, the 25th.

wcballance 01-03-2003 05:47 AM

The seminar is intended for those who have never done a DE before. The idea is to give people all the information they need to know but might have been afraid to ask. If you attend the seminar and have never done a DE before, you will receive a $50 coupon good toward your first Carolinas Region PCA DE.

KFC911 01-03-2003 05:59 AM

Hi Guys, Since I am interested in doing some DEs, and have no track/autox experience whatsoever, I think this seminar is just the thing for me. If the date changes (...and I'm not suggesting it be changed), I'll be there, but if not, I'm sure there'll be other drives this spring...Have fun!!!
