I haven't been drinking (although I use a lot of B-12 Chemtool in the garage), but I just have to say, the Porsche thermostat is the neatest hunk of aluminum I have ever held in my hand. It's just...so...COOL.

The first time I pulled one out of an an engine I thought "This looks like some sort of detonator from a James Bond movie." You know the scenes where he has to disarm a nuke by removing some fancy metal cylinder "without touching the sides".

When you reinstall make sure you have the correct orientation. I seem to recall it was possible to put it in 180 degrees out of phase. Match the passageways in the case and ports on the thermostat. Cheers, Jim

Another bright idea from the designers of the thermostat, it can only go in one way. I've tried to screw it up but I can't. The mounts are offset and you have no choice but to install it correctly.
