Targa Owners: Let's chip in and get this video translated?

Team, those of you who own a targa and want to adjust the top for leaks etc. are probably looking for something comprehensive like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYmjT8so5Lo

Even though the video itself is very very good, I'd like it more if it wasn't in German.

Turns out we can get it translated to English for probably just a couple hundred bucks.

Please PM me if you'd be willing to chip in to defray the cost of the project, and say how much you'd be willing to pay. I am thinking $5-$10 each via PayPal will do it.

If enough people take me up, I'll organize the effort. Volunteer - no profit on my part. Thanks!

Although I don't speak German, I can tell that it is pretty much the re-installation of the gaskets. However the additions of the "clips" for the top, and the extra rubber 5mm gaskets on the front top and door sills, also the adjustment of the side window height. I guess this could be done with existing gaskets that are in good condition. Nice find, it seems like a factory direct DIY old video. Really cool!

Where can one get those clips at 6:00?

With a proper OEM seal, you do not need that filler at 11:06

Good Idea putting the top on to measure the rear seal. I like the seal in front pillar and at the quarter window.

This is a great clip from Porsche, I'll just have my wife translate the technical words. It is a visual video, so a full translation may not be necessary.

This is fantastic. At 13:20 you can see him putting in the plastic plugs that are at each side of the receiver hole in the rear bar. There is no pussy footing around. BAM, it's in.

I'll kick in. Dan just did my top but I put in the seals. A re-do is in order.

Thank you. Count me in for a contribution.

I say go with bavaria's offer.

That's how I translated it as well, and in fact, those are the only words in the video and are repeated over and over and over!

The only real thing I did not like was when he was hammering on the corner to force align the rain gutter. I did that and snapped one of the arms. NOT FUN, NOT RECOMMENDED.

Just ordered the 4 spring clips and the Rubber Joints. Going to try that pulling the paper thru the seals test :-)

I know some German, but not enough to really make sense of what is being said.

I did however have very good results altering the height of the latches on my top, (moving them upward) and therefore pulling the whole top down when latched to create a better seal. I highly recommend this procedure to reduce wind noise generated at the front lip. Simply loosen the three allen head bolts and move the latch toward the canvas. It will now require significant force to latch the top onto the car, but has made a huge improvement in my particular circumstance.
