89 911 Targa: high beams automatically come on when headlights are on? High beams can be disengaged when stalk is pushed forward and back but continues to happen over and over again? Is this a switch issue? What part is required to remedy?

Does your high beam/turn signal switch feel nice and tight when you push it forward, and pull it back? Did this failure happen after some other work was done to the car?? Does the "flash to pass" function work on your car?

Sounds like an in-column switch issue. Have you read through this thread?

Time to bend the contacts.
Then look into headlight relay kit. |

Yep, bad switch. Short term, fold a piece of thin cardboard and press it in the slot behind the stalk to hold it in place.
