Exhaust part number - help
I'm doing the chain tensioner install, and while I'm in there, I decided to change all of my heater hoses. I believe I have found most of the appropriate part numbers:
Left side hose from blower to shroud: 911 211 196 00 Right side hose from blower to shroud: 911 211 274 00 (it has reducers on each side) Now, I need the two hoses from the shroud to the heat exchangers. The hoses presently on the car are about 6 inches long and look like they're made of aluminum foil. Pelican seems to sell this part, but they say it's 18 inches long, which is obviously not the right one. The part number could be 911 211 273 00 - could someone back this up? Does Pelican sell this hose? Thanks.

Steve, See the exploded parts diagrams on this BBS: Tech Forums/Porsche 911/Parts Diagrams/911SC & Turbo parts Diagrams(1978-83)/Fresh Air Blower on Engine. Blow molded plastic duct from left or driver's side of engine shroud to auxilliary blower (item 8 on diagram) is part Porsche part number 911.211.272.02. Hose (item 10 on diagram) from splitter after blower to left back nozzle on heat exchanger is Porsche part number 911.211.196.00; note this hose goes through the engine sheet metal and clamps directly to the heat exchanger nozzle. The right side of the splitter goes to a reducer (item 18) and then if the car was equipped with air conditioning to a smaller 50 mm diameter hose (item 19) or Porsche part number 911.211.274.00. This hose is inserted into another reducer (another item 18) which is in turn attached to item 20 which is Porsche part number 911.211.273.00. Item 20 passes through the engine sheet metal and attaches to the right heat exchanger nozzle. I found when I received part number 911.211.273.00 it was too long but was easily trimmed to the correct length. The Porsche part number for the item 18's (reducers) is 911.211.275.00. The OEM Porsche hot air hoses have a silver colored metal foil interior with a treated paper outside cover that is either black or a tan/brown color. At least one of the "factory" air conditioner kits came with a silver colored bit of 50 mm hose (looks like dryer ducting but is all metal - probably aluminum). The above relates to the OEM set-up; if your car has been tinkered with then things may be different.
Looks like Pelican lists all of it: 911.211.272.02 equals Pelican C-211-272-02 911.211.196.00 equals Pelican A-211-195-00 (the 196 to 195 change may be a typo or a superceded number) 911.211.274.00 equals Pelican C-211-274-00 911.211.273.00 equals Pelican C-211-273-00 911.211.275.00 equals Pelican C-211-275-01 Cheers, Jim Last edited by Jim Sims; 11-03-2002 at 07:32 PM.. |
