86 Targa Window help!

I was working on my 86 Targa to fix the window regulator. I was taking off the two screws in the very front of the door. The ones under the two plastic plugs that hold the small quarter window in place. What happen is that I dropped one of the screws and it went into the small channel in the front of the door. Is there anyway to rescue it? I removed the plug at the base of the door (very front) but there was nothing there. Any ideas? Part number 4 in picture.

If they're magnetic, you could try a magnet on a handle. My little telescoping pick-up magnet has saved me from such problems more than once.

I'll test one of the other screws to see if it is magnetic. If so I'll get a magnet and try to recover. Not much space to work in.

I made up one of these a while back.

And yes, that screw is magnetic.

Good luck,

Gerry

I kind of figured that. Already ordered replacements. Also ordered a magnetic tool and a long grabber tool.

Same thing happened to me. Be careful if you decide to use a telescoping magnet. I got the magnet stuck in there as well...
