identify item on 3.6L

What is the cup shaped item in between the 5th and 6th intake runners below the air filter in the below picture? Might be obvious after I get my motor but curiosity has me now!

Vacuum reservoir. It's important for the secondary plenum thing. Normally, it gets tucked out of the way.

Rob -

I'm glad Jack knew, because I would be no help, even if I had the info. I have been in a trance for the last 5 minutes, drooling on my keyboard just staring at that picture!
That is one mean looking engine my friend!

So tell me. Why does the 964 engine suddenly go from a supposedly problematic "2.7 of the nineties", to a masterpiece just by simply removing it from the car????

Wayne, it's a 964 engine or at least the Mass Air Flow Sensor is. It is a wedge vane type, not a hot wire. I think it is out of a '91 or up, since it has plastic induction runners.
