Need source or replacement option for "J" clip

I'm finally at the point of bolting on a couple body panels and find that I am missing a few "J" clip nuts.

Not sure what to call the panels but they bolt on to the rear corners...

The right side (shown above) had M6 bolts and nyloc nuts from a repair done by a PO. It was a real PITA to get at the nylocs. The left side had the proper "J" clip nuts and, I believe, M4 bolts.

I'd like to replace the hardware but I cannot for the life of me find a source for metric "J" clip nuts in anything close to the right size.

I've tried Bel-metric, McMaster-Carr and a a few other places that came up in a Google search.

Does anyone know where I can find these? Or alternately, has anyone successfully used another fastener, that only requires access from below? I considered a "U" clip nut but the lower panel has clearance for a "J" not "U". Anyone use the "U" type?

Thanks in advance.

Bottom of page 4 looks promising here:
"U" & "J" Nuts Auto Body Clips - Auto Body Clips

More on other pages as well. They show metric, but none in the J form.

Thanks Dennis. I look at that site and that nut. It is 1/2" from center of hole to edge and what I need is closer to 3/8". That doesn't seem like much difference but space is tight. Also since all of my tools are metric, I'd like to keep to nuts and bolts that my tools will fit.

It may be a little crude, but on the occasions of needing a J-clip, and only having U-clips in stock, I just cut the U-clip down to make a J-clip.

Stainless is for boats, dissimilar meta corrosion will eat your panels and leave nice shiny stainless fasteners on the ground.

I was thinking of that option, too.

Try West Penn Laco or McNeely AutoBody. They should have that J clip.
