Engine shakes when take-off

Hi porsche boys and girls,

I have a strange problem with my 3.2 1985. When i take-off in 1st gear sportively the complete engine shakes like hell. When i take-off slowly i don't have this problem. My first thought was the clutch plate, so i changed complete coupling set and it was without success.
I checked also the silent blocks from engine support and gearbox support and i found it satisfactory.
Can it be de bearing on the primary shaft gearbox or maybe needle bearing in flywheel?

is it shaking as you let out the clutch or when released and under heavy load? Since you changed the clutch I would guess perhaps something with the engine tuning.

Did you replace the flywheel along with a complete new Sachs clutch kit? The release fork can crack and pull the throwout bearing more on one side, which will cause chatter.

I fixed something similar this way....
You have to install a thick washer between the clutch cable cover and were it sits in the gearbox. What you are looking is to increase the bow of the clutch cable cover.
Try it !!!

As the gentleman above mentioned, could easily be related to clutch cable. If not correctly routed, or without the proper bow in the sheath, or if contacting other parts, strange things can result. Can cause shaking so bad you think your engine is about to fall out, just from a clutch cable! Have run across this problem in several cars which were thought (in some cases by "professionals") to have major mechanical problems.

Hey so I'm pretty new here and new to my 911, so no doubt other people have more experience with this than me, but something worth checking might be the motor mounts.

On my Mercedes previously, when the motor mounts went flat, the entire engine would rock back and forth sometimes under load. Once I got up to speed, it was no problem.

i have always called it clutch chatter and thought it was mostly caused by "hot spots" burned into the flywheel, and perhaps pressure plate. when i had the tranny out of my 325 i lightly sanded the flywheel to remove the hot spots. i was not having any problems but thought i would give it a shot. it did not cause any problems. usually tunring or replacing the flywheel is a fix,. not sure if i would turn a porsche flywheel

check motor mounts.
