How are the rear seat bottoms supposed to be installed?
Just received my new (to me) rear seat bottoms and I'm wondering how they are normally secured. They appear to just have some glue on the edges - is that it?
Any advice would be great. ![]() |

Yes, I think they were just glued. I'm thinking about using heavy duty Velcro on the ones I recently had recovered.

What you see as just glue along the edges is the spray glue across the entire bottom that overlaps the vinyl or leather. The carpet and jute felt insulation on the car side of the attaching points is also spray glued and then when both sides are tacky, pressed together and "clamped" with a lead shot bag or some other suitable heavy weight until the glue has set.

Thanks for the info! I may try the Velcro route to start and see if that works, otherwise I will glue then down.
