3.0
Twin plug,
10.5:1 compression
Even more porting!

(But I did get distracted. I pulled the wheels in order to get better access to the axles, and next thing I new my brake upgrade was finally happening!)

Because of that, the engine is still sitting on the floor...
More on that later

But, what amazes me about those 993 brakes (black) is that even at their much larger size, they are much lighter than my primitive tiny 73 callipers (yellow)
I've had these sitting in a box for way too long as I let the car tell me what it needed next.
It now seems to be telling me it wants these before the engine.

As they say, the faster you can stop, the faster you can go!
I never felt that I could really trust the old ones, They were absolutely fine for the street but at a Driver's Ed event, at the end of a long straight there was a certain amount of puckering.

Sigh, waiting for some parts to finish the install of both engine and brakes.

By now my next step should be pretty predictable to anyone who has been following my thread.

What to do while waiting? Start another project of course!
(Back to the 914)

At this point I have handed it off to Mike and Jamie at Mikes914s. They will handle the heavy lifting

Show us more on the brake upgrade. Do you still have the original steel banana arms in the rear and how are you mounting the calipers? What rotors are those?
993 stuff on the front as well?

-Caliper spacer added to widen the throat to fit over a..
-Stock 930 rear disk

993 front will go on as well with mounting brackets to convert from radial mount to stock mounting.

keep up the progress no matter what it is every day...!! keep the focus on what the final goal is for this round of work as this kind of work can go on for ever with the "while I am in there aka slippery slope" with it never ending...
If your enjoyment is more working on the car than driving it that's fine... just saying this so the focus is kept in line... however, with your quick work I don't worry if you veer off course a bit as you will get what ever the stray item you want to do done quickly and then back on main focus... I as I am sure many, want to see this car back on the road asap when you are ready so we can see more vids and how it all turns out...
carry on and keep making progress...

How project get stalled - and how project get moving

Sigh, back home for the weekend then back on the road.

Good intentions get stalled one step at a time:
-Engine install stalled while amber shroud fit to be fine tuned
-Brembo upgrade stalled while waiting for seal conditioner deliver
-Bike build stalled because I lost a spring for my crank
-I've jobbed out some structural repairs to the 914

I now have everything I need, but I am not there anymore.
I have a feeling that it will all come together in one giant crescendo!

I wish I had time for a second project. Nice looking 914.

Amber shroud? OTT. Way to go.

This was a bigger job than it seems. Getting the measurements right took more time than fabbing the aluminum panel.

I made mutiple wood templates before I got everything right.
I had mm to spare

Now on to the wiring...
