So while the oil tank is out and accessible, we are cleaning it up and also doing new oil level sender gasket (Nitrol Rubber) , and also OEM oil tank filter gasket. Thanks to our host!

Butt welding complete! Both sides now done and we can return to our normal programming! Allot of metal work in this car between the sunroof delete, butt welded rear fenders and front oil cooler air dam. I'm ready for some color!

Half the people I talk to say keep it GP white, the other half and my inner being is screaming for VOODOO blue. I'm really considering stepping out from the ordinary with this "newer" color on an older car. SmileWavy Its getting close to paint time.

Nice work! Would love to see that Voodoo blue on your car!

Love the VOODOO blue. But GP white looks great as well. Can't go wrong either way - win win!

Great build, glad you made the rear fenders "right". I have a similar problem with mine, one arch is probably 1/2" higher than the other. It's not a huge deal except when you start comparing both sides and realize it's a big off.

As for color, I do like the white, it's clean and provides a blank slate if you're going to add graphics. I'm personally not a fan of Voodoo blue, it's too dark or too purple or something, just doesn't look right to me. I'd like to suggest an alternate, VW Jazz blue or Audi Nogaro blue. Below are a few shots. Yes it's not a Porsche color but it's from the same family and looks a little different than the others.

I really like the voodoo because it flips so many shades of blue.In the direct sun (I'm in Florida) it almost looks like Mexico. In the night it looks royal blue.

I did a thread on color choice between Mexico and Voodoo
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/929307-voodoo-blue-mexico-blue-82-wide-body.html

Second car from right is Voodoo, followed by Mexico and gulf

Next to Miami blue

This video really sold me. If I do blue, its going to be VooDoo

Ok, were getting somewhere now. The lap welded fenders have now been cut off and butt welded back on and the first coat of primer is on. Shes healthy again, no rust! So hopefully next week after the final primer cures, we will be ready for either Voodoo blue or Grand Prix white. I'm still on the fence!

PS I'm going to have to start a Go fund me page for this build. LOL

Lol!! You're pandering to the wrong crowd! I think most of us are on the verge of bankruptcy with our own projects;)

Looks great though...my vote is for Voodoo. I've got about 5 colors I've been considering and Voodoo is one of them. If you paint your car that color then I can eliminate it as I'm trying to be a little different(which is very hard).

Anything works (cobalt blue) as long (cobalt blue) as it (cobalt blue) isn't red.
