The antique tag is ready! Almost hit the "cool tag" lottery if that first 5 was a 1. IB911
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1483652561.JPG Tag is close to miami blue! Well maybe not..... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1483653236.JPG |
Great color choice! I really dig some of these "new blues" the factory has today. I've been thinking about Graphite Blue for my next build. Looking forward to seeing yours soon!

Old school 60s roof mounted 911 chrome mirror came in today. I took this Idea from magnus and Singer Porsche.

The car will be painted Tuesday. We are really pushing it for the Rolex 24 which is 3 weeks from today. Starting to get a bit nervous :(

The roll bar/cage is now welded in and the car is in sealant and masked for paint. It will be painted today! I will have pictures in a few hours of the chassis in Miami blue! SmileWavy
Notice how dark the Miami blue looks. I'm telling you this color shifts so much, that's why I chose it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1484342531.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1484342531.JPG |

It blows my mind that these 2 cars are the same color......
PS only 14 days to the Rolex 24, lots of work to be done in a little bit of time. We still have to finish clearing the chassis and let cure. Paint and clear doors, bumpers, duck tail and hood. Then put all the body panels back on the car. Then install all glass, head/tail lamps and rubber seals back on to the body. We still have to install the full interior including carpets, headliner, door panels and seats. Install WEVO shift kit with coupler. We need to run the Elephant racing oil lines from rear to front cooler. Oil and tranny fluids, WEVO engine and tranny mounts, plus Rennline engine carrier. Brake rotors, pads, SS lines and fluid. Lower the car/alignment. I'm sure Im forgetting allot. Wish us luck please! Tic, tic, tic, tic, tic,....the clock is a ticking! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1484406473.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1484406473.jpg |
Beautiful work! I love that front bumper with the integral splitter. My project is also inspired by that red RS/IROC replica, although I'm using an early whale tail rather than a duck, and CCWs instead of Fuchs. Did you consider blue houndstooth for the seat inserts? If you have an urge, I can send you a small sample of this one that was sent to me when I was thinking of orange houndstooth:

The car was originally going to be black and white color scheme. Hence the normal hounds tooth. I changed my mind on color sort of at the last moment so just going to stick with the black and white for now and besides I paid good money for it to be done. I have the original al black cushions also, so I have 2 sets. One for track (the black set) and the hounds tooth for shows or events such as cars and coffee. |
Couple lil goodies for my rear quarter windows.
