What tow hooks did you use? Love your build.

My old car had them and they did get used at the track once when my fuel pump went out, Worked just fine so sticking with them again on this build.Pics of first SC with them. SmileWavy http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1467823625.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1467823640.jpg |
And you used the stoddard front bumper 964 style "smile".
Any concessions to make it fit? I have a similar front bumper but from getty. Their bumper does not work well with the smile because, like the 964 bumper, it needs an indent infront of the trunk if that makes sense. Does your bumper have that? |

The 964 front smile, both regular or turbo size, fit quite good. I used both sizes on my '87 911 and my '79 widebody race car. You just have to strategically position it to fit the leading edge of the hood. If you position the smile too far rearward, the lip of the smile covers up the hood. So when you open or close the hood you have to peel back the edge of the smile. You can also slightly trim the edge of the seal to clear the hood.
I found it worked best to fasten the smile to the bumper. Which is the opposite of the original smile that is fastened to the underside of the fenders and to the front/top of the tub across the hood area. |
Were gonna go with it. This is just a mock up so its not actually mounted or held down. SmileWavy

Shoot sorry forgot this one....SmileWavy
Fiberglass duck, fiberglass front/rear bumpers, and fiberglass hood. Now a non sunroof wide body coupe! We are ready for paint! Yee haw! *Forgot to mention during removal/minor rust work of the front fenders (euro turn signals location was previously filled and rust had bubbled through paint). We found that the front fenders are real turbo fenders from an early turbo car. So that was a nice bonus. The rears were SC fenders with turbo flares added. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1468007350.jpg |
