That's the Buckley Racing fire extinguisher mounting bracket. Jim Buckley has some nice solutions for various things like the extinguisher, front sway bar chassis reinforcement & rear sway bar mounts. Good guy who knows his stuff.

My seat cushions before and after. I purchased an extra set so will use the standard black set for normal driving and track use. Will use the hounds tooth for cars and coffee and show type events.

Not yet as the seats are at a different location. I did do a photo shop of the upper part of the seat when I was considering doing it. SmileWavy

Nice. Curious what you think of those seats for street use?

I love em that's why its my second time using them. Very comfy, lightweight, strong, good looking. Can use my seat harnesses with them. But then again my car is track/street. Most of my decisions were based on cost and weight. Less concerned with comfort. I guess if I had my choice, Recaro would be my first choice, but I got these 2 seats for the cost of 1 Recaro.

That's good to know. Thanks for the info. Do you know how they would compare to GT3 seats?

What rating do they have? I've always used Recaro for track cars as I don't want find out the hard way that the seats were garbage in the event of an incident.

Fwiw... Seats like this are very hard to live with for street duty. They're tough to get in and out of, they can limit visibility, back seat access becomes difficult, and your pockets are completely inaccessible. Comfort is subjective. Around town I hate them but on longer trips they do force you to maintain good posture.

They are not an FIA approved racing seat. They are considered to be a "sport seat". If and when I get serious with tracking the car, I will upgrade to a FIA Recaro or Corbeau seats. For now these work for me just fine and I have none of the problems you mentioned above. The car will be 99% driven on the streets and then sprinkle in whatever PCA DE track days I can get to.

From Corbeau

The FX1 Pro racing seat features composite fiberglass technology. The FX1 Pro racing seat comes in three different sizes, the FX1 Pro, FX1, and FX1 Wide. The FX1 Pro combines comfort, performance, and safety at an absolutely unbeatable price. Designed with an emphasis on comfort, this seat is one of the most comfortable race seats you will ever sit in. One of the unique things about the FX1 Pro is it can be bottom or side mounted. Most shell seats are side mount only, which means you have to side mount the seat and bolt it directly to the floor, eliminating the ability to slide forward and back. With the FX1 Pro you can still bottom mount the seat to Corbeau brackets and sliders, which obviously makes the seat much more practical, especially in a daily driver. High wear patches are strategically placed to protect your seat from abuse in the high wear areas. The FX1 Pro comes with three removable insert cushions, one in the back, one in the base, and one under the thighs. The FX1 Pro racing seat is available in cloth material with leatherette high wear patches or black microsuede with leather high wear patches. As a rule of thumb, the FX1 Pro racing seat will fit up to a 36 inch waist, the FX1 (cloth only) will fit up to a 38 inch waist and the FX1 Wide (black cloth only) will fit up to a 42 inch waist. The part numbers for the FX1 Pro seat are as follows: 29501P: Black Cloth Pro, 29507P: Black/Red Cloth Pro, S29501P: Black Suede Pro, 29501: Black Cloth, 29507: Black/Red Cloth, 29501W: Black Cloth Wide.

I don't sorry but there is not to much to see. It mounts to the 3 bolts holding the E brake in place and it fits in between the seats. Once the fire extinguisher is mounted to the bracket, you no longer see the bracket. The e brake handle is still functional. I like it because I can reach it without moving. My thinking is if I was hurt badly in an accident to the point where I couldn't move much, I like to think that I can still at least reach to the right and grab it even with my harnesses on in case of a fire. Of course I know there could be bad "situations" where even that could be impossible, but I think the closer to my hands the better for me. Hopefully I never find out. I guess a full fire suppression system is the way to go but this car is not a full on race car, its a street car. I also like knowing that if there is an engine fire, the car wont be totaled due to not having anything to put the fire out with. The halon is supposedly the safest chem. for the electrical/engine componentry. Then again what do I know. I'm sure there are allot of guys on here that know allot more about all this stuff. I'm just having fun building a car.

Fiberglass Hood and front bumper in primer. Have to make a few fiberglass mods for the front signal lenses to be just right. Should all be in final primer next week.
