So what modifications are needed to the 964 cable to make it work with an SC pedal?

I had the bicycle cable with the lengthened arm at the trans pivot. I thought it felt terrible so I found a thread on the 964 cable mods. I don't remember what exactly I had to change. It involved some copper fitting from the hardware store and removing part of the cable housing (which was a pain). Works awesome now!

I have no cable system. It was terrible.
SC accelerator console that mounts perfectly in the 964 cruise control location. From there a modified in lenght accelator rod that attaches to TB butterfly. Voila. Perfection. No drag no issues. Just right |

I have the Patrick cable. It's super smooth, but pedal travel is really long. I wish there was a way to easily shorten it.

Thanks for the info guys! I think I am going to go ahead and fabricate my own from the bellcrank back. I want to get a little quicker initial opening, so I will play with the motion ratios a bit.

Thanks for the help and info. I made a new throttle cable and bell crank with better motion ratios. (Lokar 36" throttle cable kit).
The difference is huge. Much better throttle response and easier to match the downshifts. One of the best mods I have done. Strongly recommend it! Mike |
