Twin Plugging Solutions?
Hey guys,
What are some of you doing to fire a 964/993 twin dizzy for your twin plug conversions? I currently have a Crane HI-6 CDI ignition system with LX92 coil on my single plug setup. The heads were machined for twin plugs a while back. Now that I’m planning to hook up the twin plugs, I need to think about how to fire the 964/993 twin dizzy. I’ve seen in the past people using an Andial ignition signal splitter which then connects to two MSD ignition boxes/coils. These Andial boxes aren’t cheap! I don’t even know if you can still get them anymore?! Any other updated solutions out there? |

I have best solution for doing this on a 3.2L engine setup. See here, far better and simpler install than the andial solution.
Andial Splitter, simpler alternative solution.

My problem is I need to drive high energy output coils as my motor is boosted at 1.25bar. I had drivability issues running the OEM ignition/coils so I needed a high output CDI ignition like the Crane to eliminate spark “blow out” at high boost. I’ve just noticed that the M&W Pro14B ignition system is designed for Porsche Twin Plug setups, using any high output MSD or Crane ignition coils. |

I have a customer using M&W Ignitions Pro-14R CDI trigger/splitter, M&W Ignitions coil packs and that solution works well also.

Steve Wong, SWChips (formerly know as 911Chips) has a good option if using a 3.2 DME.
