Basically yes.
On the track I use a combo of both - double de clutch and heel- Toe blipping. I have a 2nd gear that is getting cranky and I can't be excited about doing another g/box rebuild. So when downshifting to 2nd I double declutch and the gear thanks me. Honestly, I find it too much work for every gearshift on the track. But I do blip the throttle with clutch in before releasing the clutch on all other shifts. I usually do this on the road too if I am really driving the SC (compared to a sunday cruise and sluggish shifts). Now that I think about it, I H&T most of the time in the SC.
The reason is when downshifting you are upping the revs once clutch is engaged. That puts a load on the drivetrain and clutch. If you blip the throttle before this, the transition is really smooth and does not suddenly load the drivetrain. Because you are engaging at increased revs. On the track this stuff happens quick and can be quite violent if you get it wrong. But doing H&T is dead smooth.
Your way, if I read it right is that you are raising the revs and about to drop the clutch. On a downshift. That just seems totally wrong. Do you ever feel a jolt?
That is hard on everything.

Since chiming in on this thread and hearing the replies I've been using every opportunity I drive to get used to using H&L all the time. Now that it's going smoothly in each car, I totally see the benefit, enjoyment of utilizing and am glad for it! Danke all :BEER
