Question Rocker Arm Bushing WTD??? Where are the holes? 901-105-341-01/41

Okay Fellas, I can understand Porsche superceding parts but where the fuchs are the holes for the oil inlet for the shaft?

Old Rocker with old bushing, there are two inlet holes with chamfers

New one, with a slit??? WTD is going on here?

Do I just have it pressed in and ask the machine shop to drill holes and chamfers in it? I did notice the new one had a good coating of teflon in the ID

They are not really Teflon coated the layer is generally Tin.

They have never been made with holes and it is important to correctly position the split line.

They are manufactured by Glyco and sold as a semi finished part.

As you can see the Glyco Part No. is 56-2698SEMI and Rock Auto sell them at around $3.50 each.

Once they are pressed into the rocker arm they will need to be honed to the correct clearance or they will just not fit onto the rocker shaft and the holes will need to be drilled prior to honing.

The correct dimensions are given in the 'spec books' and the Ra is as important as the clearance.

We buy them directly from Glyco in batches of 500 and fit them to our new forged Rocker Arms.

Once they have been honed they take on the traditional bronze appearance.

Ask cgarr how he generally does it. He's done hundreds of these rockers.

+1 on CGAR Jim He re-bushed my rockers a while back, nice job and very reasonable. Also included cleaning up the contact area.
