Anyone got experience with Franz Blam regarding 930 work?

I don't have 930 experience, but did have them do a 2.7 RS spec engine for me once. Some of the work was less than satisfactory (we found out after the fact). At the time, Dieter was managing their shop work. They used Solex cams and told me they were "S" cams, and something else that was really piss poor. Can't remember all the details as it was 12+ years ago, but it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Make sure your comfortable with working with them.... that's all I'll say.

I have used Franz several times over the years when I had my 1974 and 1979SC 911's. I do not know if Franz retired and his shop is run by his son or not. Its been a year or so since i have stopped by. I do know that Dieter is still their and he is an excellent mechanic. Franz built twim turbo's for the 24 Hours of Daytona cars and has a reputation for metilculous, excellent engine rebuilding. I have seen many 930's in his shop over the years and I would not hestitate to use his shop for 930 work.
You should stop by and check out whats going on and see if he still does his mechanic thing. Please let us Atlanta folks know. Regards Bob 73.5T |
