How does the factory alarm disable the car?

Does it kill the starter, the fuel pumps, or spark... or all of them. 1986 factory alarm in 930, key on drivers door.

Trying to chase a no-spark condition... have fuel pumps running with plug off rear of fuel distributor and starter cranks.

There is a diagram in the back of the Bentley if you have it. It interrupts the fuel pump circuit as I recall. I can post a pic later if you need it.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Key on driver's door? I find it difficult to believe Porsche installed an alarm key on the door of the car. Do you have any pictures? Hopefully you are saying the alarm is activated by the door locking mechanism on the door. I hate alarms, factory installed or aftermarket.

It's in the door jam under the latch. Most of the original factory alarms are kaput. I yanked mine long ago. ten pounds of crappy wire. Good riddance.

I installed a hidden kill switch, park it a locked garage, have a gun and don't take it to dodgy neighborhoods. I also have an arsenal at home and full coverage insurance.

Not the best pic, but it's on the driver side door:

The DME (engine computer) and fuel pump get power from the DME relay which is powered by an output from the alarm module. My module started going bad and I eventually bypassed it to keep from being stranded. So, yes, the alarm will affect both spark and fuel.
