need part number / name for duct pip collar 79 911 sc
howdy.
Great website. Whilst discovering my brake light switch was stuffed and the backup was a 2 prong not 3 (meaning it never worked), I damaged a part. It appears to be the collar that goes around the pipe duct into a metal connector. What I had was a plastic collar that allowed the duct pipe to fit in it and then it slipped onto metal pipe housing thats attached to the hood floor. This was a LHD converted to RHD so am not sure where to look. I have searched on pelican parts but havent found it. Here are some pics. One shows the broken collar, the other shows where the pipe goes out the side of trunk. ![]() ![]() |

Hi,
From the PET, page 402, I think you're looking for Item 40, 911 573 235 00, Air Distributer Upper. http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/usa/911_USA_78_83_KATALOG.PDF If there was a difference between the left and right hand drives (LHD/RHD) this would be in the Remarks column with /LL or /RL. I could not find this PET page on PP. Harold 87 911 Coupe LHD 82 911SC Ferry Porsche Ed Coupe RHD |

It looks similar but my duct pipe is a smaller diameter than the one going into air splitter unit. Its almost like it should be wider but it has to accommodate a smaller diameter pipe.

The part in your picture looks to be item #7 on the PET page that Harold noted . . . part number 91157317900

Thanks people for the help so far. I have looked at the pages you have referenced. I think I havent explained the broken part well.
Its not the air distributer thats broken, Its the socket grommet that fits onto the end and reduces the diameter of the hole to suit the smaller pipe. Its made of different plastic to the distributer which is a lot harder and is a matt finish where the grommet/reducer is shiny. In my first picture you can see how the collar of the reducer has broken off so it no longer provides a nice circular hole for the duct pipe. Are you saying to get this reducer I need to buy the air distributer? |
