intermittent 3.2
Okay, here goes:
When cold and damp in the morning - seems as though it is not firing on one cylinder. Starts to clear after warm up. Regardless of weather, during normal acceleration, there is a slight but noticable drop in power between 3500 and 4500 that clears instantly. At constant cruise at around 3000, I can barely feel and intermittentpower change. Electrical it seems, but where to start? Oh, this is my 1985 daily driver with 225,000 miles on it. I have searched archives and seen a few disscussions, but not one quite matching my condition. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Mike |

I'm still new to the 3.2 world, but I just read a post that said to check the distributor cap for moisture.
If you park your car outside overnight, this could be a possibility. And since you say that it goes away after driving for a bit, it sounds like a likely culprit. Disclaimer: if this is the cause, credit should be given to John Walker. |

I had the same problem whenever the engine got wet it would sputter. Turns out my ignition cables were bad. Get yours changed and see what happens.

I had aggravating wet weather probs and just changed the cap/rotor and plug wires/plugs. The problem went away but not sure which was the culprit. The flucuating power at 3,000 rpms "MAY" be O2 sensor related. I seem to remember the O2 sensor causing symptoms like that.
Good Luck
