...that matter, right?
I just got the car back from the shop. It now has nice, cold AC, some new gauges (trans temp, battery), temp-triggered switches for the front cooler and transaxle pump, and some external paint mods. One external change is the Euro-style headlights with the body color rings snapped over the chrome. I have to admit, I still also like the look of the original US rings (I know, I'm all alone on that). But the narrower rings are growing on me. ![]() Picture quality is lousy, I know. But hey, it's dark out here. Also, the SC-style rocker covers have been added down below. No longer are oil lines and undercoat on display. They cut the S deco trim lengthwise, and mated it to similarly-chopped rocker covers. It makes the car look lower, which I like. I've been driving the Jaguar, lately. But getting behind the wheel of the real sportscar reminded me what driving is all about. The 911 may have less power than the Jag, on paper, but it's also over a thousand pounds lighter. What a difference a half a ton of dead weight makes... TRE Automotive and Dave Bouzaglou continue to do great work on this car. Monday is the Tracquest event at Willow Springs. I'll be making my first foray out with R-compound tires. Needless to say, I'm in a good mood. ![]() ------------------ Jack Olsen My Rennlist page • My Pelican Gallery page • My Porsche Owners Gallery page [This message has been edited by JackOlsen (edited 10-13-2001).] |

Trust me, the euro lights will really enhance the car.
Did you have A/C before? Please post some good pics asap, as I'm keen on those SC rocker additions. BB looks similar to my car, so any changes you make, I can compare with a little photo-shop! Cheers ------------------ John Forcier 69 911T |

Nice Changes! Give us a report as to trans oil temps. I am quite curious.

Looks great Jack. The rocker covers really look great. I never really noticed the oil lines on your car until I saw BB with the covers. The H4's really look great to. Did you wire in the small driving lights?
As for the AC, what did you go with? C2 system? Rotory? R-13? Any mods to the internal vents? ------------------ Paul 78SC Targa Pelican Parts Members Gallery |

Stunning, Jack. I'm looking forward to daytime pics. It so happens I am considering removing AC from my car, and it works fine. I can't believe you are just now using R-compound tires. Same with Tyson. Tyson has entered our local, highly competitive autocross this year wiht a ROAR, using street tires in the GTU class, and now he has a set of 'R's. Our GTU class will be interesting, and I'll be there next Saturday. Wish I was at Willow to watch. You both will be.....amazed as they say. "It's all about traction."

BB is looking great as always Jack! I can't wait to see BB and finally meet you in person on Monday at Willow. This will only be my 2nd time on that track, as well as my first time ever on Hoosiers (I've been running Yoko and Kumho DOT-R's until now). Should be interesting.

Ahhhh, perfect. Two additions I'd hoped you'd get around to soon. It was nice before, but it's just as it should be now.

Once again, I have to disagree (with everyone, apparently). Maybe it is the shape, maybe it is the plastic, I really don't know.
Those headlights just look wrong on an early car. Tom ------------------ 82 911SC Coupe |
