Must do while visiting LA?

I will be in Anaheim July 24th -30th for training. I have Friday all to myself and could extend stay for a Saturday event first or second weekend.

What should a Porsche fan do while in the LA area? Flying in and out of SNA.

Not really specific to Porsche but:
Petersen Automotive Museum
The Getty Center
Barney's Beanery
Randy's Donuts
Magnus?
Disneyland
The Strand (Manhattan Beach)

Great list!

I'm lucky the Angels are in town against the Red Sox on Thurs. and Fri night.

How does one meet Magnus while in LA? Show up outside his garage, channel my best Marlon Brando from Streetcar Named Desire, and shout "Magnus!" as loud as I can?

I hit up a few of the beaches while I was there, lots of neat stuff around those. Drove Mulholland, drove through beverly hills (I like architecture), drove down hollywood blvd, visited universal studios, Visited TRE Motorsports and bought a bunch of parts, stopped in at LA dismantlers, and of course I stopped at Pelican parts

He seems really down to Earth. Maybe email him ahead of time via his website and ask if you can swing by, buy a T-shirt and talk Porsche for 30 minutes.

There's a killer bookstore near Burbank. If you're into bikes, look for Yoshi's Garage Shop. Head up to the Rock Store on the weekend. If there are any Cars and Coffee events left, those can be fun.

Too many museums to list. A zillion good restaurants. Lots of famous Porsche shops, car dealers, etc. Canepa, California Porsche Restoration, endless others.

Pelican is out there...

Taking a look at the canyon roads is an iconic drive and there is an awesome place to enjoy a packed lunch at "The Snake" up on Mulholland.

One of the most amazing places in all of LA is The Huntington Library outside of Pasadena. It is a literary museum, art museum, and world class garden all rolled into one.

Rather near SNA is European Collectibles who always have a bunch of vintage Porsches for sale. (bring $$$$)

And as mentioned before The Petersen is just an unbelievable automotive museum.

The Dana Point 356 Concours @ Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point is on Sunday, July 24th. You can check out hundreds of Porsches on the grass. Obviously a lot of 356's but plenty of 911's too.

By the new Excellence on Sunset, 6 pack of Stone IPA and some prostitutes off LA Craigslist. Full LA experience.

Only kidding. Look up local cruise nights or cars and coffee.

Petersen Museum in LA was remodeled this past year. Currently it has on display a 962, 936, 917K, and 935 K3.

Is Cars and Coffee still on in Irvine on Saturday morning?

LA is so much cooler than the negative stories you hear about. I found people to be very friendly. The first time I went I was mistaken for a movie star everywhere I went, despite all my protests.

I always visit museums so the Getty is a solid choice.
Zuma beach is the beach to visit.
Griffith's observatory has a spectacular view and notable movie history.
Venice beach is like a zoo for peculiar people.

Have fun!

+1 ^^^^^

I'm in San Diego and really enjoy going to L.A. when I can.

BTW, at the Dana Point 356 Concours they mention many 911s to be there too. Where do they park?
