Question Front Tow Hooks

The front toe hooks on my T-bar ends are gone. Would like to repace them.
Has any one used/bought one of these ? Not exactly a OEM replacement, looks like they would be better. More like the 914 design ?

Tow Hook Assembly, 911 (1974-89) PEL-RDP201

Cary,

Have seen several aftermarket designs that try to improve on the stock unit. Have not used them personally but want to try one out. If you do, pls let us know how you like it.

Joe, did you look at the photo ? Doesn't it look like it lays horizontal ? That would be cool.
At $50, I think I'll give them a try.

I think P201 needs to be welded onto pan in center. See Pic at PEL-RDP200. Are you looking for C-341-037-02 and C-341-038-02 ?

Cary,

Forgotten where I saw them last. Let me look around and see what I can find.

Cary,

Found these right away but have seen others. Except for the one from Pelican, they all bolted to the torsion bar attach point area and did the same as stock but a bit beefer. Will keep looking.

Ron, I want a real tow hook.
On the OEM tie downs. I have 1/2 of one left.
That weld on one looks good. It's just like the
factory one on my 914.

Check out the Weltmeister tow hooks, part #TH-911R. Looks like a bolt on solution that fits your needs. Don't know if PP carries them, but there's a pic in their ad on pg. 91 of the newest Excellence mag (Feb., 2003)- $99.95/ea. list price.

Did this guy ever "stub" his toe on any low bridges or underpasses?

Tom, my new Excellence has yet to arrive. I'd like to look at them too.

I don't want the cut a hole thru the FB race car type.

TRE has one also, I couldn't quite figure it out from the picture.

Thanks Ron. I hadn't seen that before.

Slammed, I'll have to get under there and ponder which one.

I bought 2 used ones at Parts Heaven for $20, to replaced the ones on my SC.

As for the new Welmiester one's, I imagine a person with some decent tools (Cary) could make the same thing pretty inexpensively.
