Thanks for the link. Yes I have seen those, our host sells them too I think from a different manufacturer, but since they're all meant for impact bumpers then a piece has to be fabricated to match the curve and fill in the void for it to fit my long-hood. I think that is the part that caused the problem on my car in the first place, lol. Without knowing of a reputable shop (and the cost of fabricating that panel vs. the higher cost of just buying the RSR/ST flares in the first place but with no fab work) that can do that, I am afraid of having it done wrong (again).

Turbo flares are easier to install.
Turbo flares offer more room for tires.
Either fender flare will require some remedial work to your fenders.
Turbo flares will net you (or your estate) more money when the car sells.
Steel flares add more value to a car than fiberglass and aren't much more money up front.

I wouldn't use the previous shop without more details as to why they installed the front flares in that manner.

JR
Hey JR, thanks for the extra feedback, it sounds like you think they ARE Turbo flares on the rear?

1. Are turbo flares easier to install even considering the pieces that must be hand fabricated and put in?
2. Interesting, I did not know that, but thats good to know since thats the main reason I am doing this lol
3. true, but that missing piece is the part I don't understand "how much" work vs. the others
4. Interesting
5. I agree about the steel, I have been hesitant to put any fiberglass on since it is all-steel now, my rationale in doing it was if it was just a lot easier/cheaper to do it would solve my main issue of drivability now without a huge investment.

I think I will call the shop and see if I can figure out what they did, I wouldn't even bother with that set and would skip them altogether if they weren't so highly rated and also recommended by some respectable places. I am at a loss for how these could be so bad, unless they just screwed up and the PO didn't notice or care, or he WANTED them that way.

Anyone know of a good body shop in the SF Bay Area to install Turbo flares properly??

Some inspiration pics stolen from one of my fave back dates here on Pelican (IMO) (turbo look car): I hope you find the shop!

Yeah that looks awesome! Orange is my favorite color too, and I wish my car was orange (or gray or a funky green instead of black, lol, even though many peoples favorite color is black)
Its just that one darn little filler piece at the base of the fender fire that I need to have done to a turbo flare, and done RIGHT! ARGH, yeah I hope I find one too, thanks! I got a PM recommendation for one near me and went to the website for the contact info, wrote them a long email and included pics... and the email address came back as invalid, lol. Guess I am calling in the morning

What did you end up doing for front flares?
