Cdi + msd tach adaptor
Is it possible to use the MSD Pn8910 tach adaptor with a cdi or permatune box, if so does anyone have a wiring diagram. Can't get my tach to work with the permatune alone and I already have a msd tach adaptor.
Thanks. |

Need a lot more information.
Year of car, type of mods you have done? What wiring changes were made, type of troubleshooting you've done etc. A stock setup should work just fine if the year of the parts match.

It's a 912 69' with a 2.2t left hand to right hand drive, using a blue prematune CDI With an 11/67 12v 24000 tach, so a lot of mods done by the PO which are not original. The only troubleshooting I've done is trying to get the tach to work without the permatune which didn't work

Contact Bob Ashlock, I think his tach adapter is what you need.
Pelican sells them.

Got the tach working with the by simply using the spare msd tach adaptor I had. Just connected the white wire to the low tension wire and the red wire to the switched power from ignition switch, although Bob Ashlock's adaptor looks like a smarter, more versatile solution that I would of used had I not already had the msd.
