Over Labor Day weekend, my dedicated 911 race car had a failure in the bell-housing. It is a 5 speed G50 with a shortened bell-housing to fit a 1985 911.
One of the cast mounts in the bell-housing failed (photo), so the fork cannot pivot on the throw out bearing. I'm looking for input on repair options. This is a dedicated race car so I'm not committed an OEM solution. A new bell-housing with machining to shorten costs nearly as much as a used G50 (which would also required machining on the bell-housing). I really don't want to go down that road. A few thoughts.
Thanks in advance for any input. Craig ![]()

This is exactly what I needed to find. Thank you Matt.

You're welcome. They do quality work and a quick turnaround. If you are serious about going hydraulic over a repair, they can do that conversion as well.

The G50 in my racecar broke the same way and was fixed by California Motorsports about 8 years ago and it's been fine since.

Cory, Did you replace both mounts or only the broken one?

Both mounts were fixed. I think that that is the standard way they do it.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is it exactly that causes this failure, and is it common ?

This is caused by fatigue/stress on the aluminum cast mount. It is unlikely to fail on a street car or occasionally tracked car with OEM clutch components. Add more HP, a high friction disc and high clamp pressure plate.....this can happen.

Another nice detail about California Motorsports is they have more reasonable pricing then a lot of places.
But "Yes", they are the G50 kings.
