How about the convertible in the 1991 movie "The Dream Machine" with Corey Haim?

"I bought my husband a brand new $100,000 Porsche"

Were those wheels aftermarkt back then on a new car?

What convertible? And those are either chromed or highly polished and are NOT original.

The only early wheels with out the standard finish had the RSR finish.

Those two photos are of different girls. Different hair, skirt, shoes, etc.
Haim, on the other hand, is from the same photoshoot in both promo shots

I’ve noticed a lot of us delivered cars cane with chrome wheels where you never see them anywhere else. Benzes, for example. Maybe it was a dealer thing?

There was a time that dealers did offer a lot of unnecessary bling on cars, mainly to make more money on the sale. It wasn't something you saw as much on Porsches as on Mercedes, or Lexus, etc. Chromed wheels, pinstriping, gold plated badges, etc.

As a side note, the Fuchs were "dipped" in paint not sprayed.

Hard to explain to a concours judge.

Yes, this is how my 1986 930 was purchased. Sheepskins and polished wheels were dealer installed options.

contrary to what may have been said here i believe some of the 3.0 rs were polished. the display and press cars were fully polished. some of the early delivered cars outer flanges were half polished. later built cars had no polished. may have been to labor intensive as they went through the production.

Recent owner of a '67 SWT!! Bumping an old post instead of starting new.

Is this style Fuchs correct to the '67? I thought no since they had no black inset but maybe they are correct?

Everyone has Fuchs wheels. How about a little originality? Australian Superlites and a little stripping?

Reviving this post, see picture of the Special Wishes brochure.
The Fuchs have polished lip.
I have a set with 1987 date codes and from what I can see they have never been refinished. Can anyone confirm?

Here was my Cab back in the 90s. Some of you from Pasadena may recognize the church in the back ground. Chromed by Al Reed. ( The Master)
