Tunnel Carpet install question
I am installing Appbiz RS carpet in my G50 car - I am deleting center console. Can I unscrew the 3 bolts that hold shifter in place and tuck carpet underneath? Or am I going to screw something up. Should I just glue carpet as close as possible to bracket/frame? I am also thinking about tucking a shift boot under there, too. Opinions welcomed. Cheers

I think you can unscrew that. On a 915 you definitely can. Someone who's done it on a G50 should weigh in though.

Use the rubber shift boot, and let it sit on top of the carpet. No need to tuck it under. I did that on my car and the boot stays put. The edges of the carpet are hidden under it, so there is no need to make the hole perfect.

I deleted the center console on my 915 gearbox car and added an AppBiz carpet as described by proschenut. If you use a 915 rubber boot, there is a groove around the bottom that you can shape the carpet opening to so that it fits flush to the boot. When installed, it should cover everything up nicely. |
