right turn signal problem

The situation is all signals work no bulbs out all bulbs correct, all headlights work, all 4 ways work! when you turn on the head lights the right signal is on but wont blink but all 3 others lights blink as directed. I have checked all fuses to make sure nothing is drawing. I pulled the right signal unit and took it apart and cleaned all the contacts. I pulled the blinker unit, took it apart and cleaned all contacts. Both units I cleaned where like new, not even any oxidation! What I notice is when you turn either signal one the 2 interior green signal lamps both go on but are dim. Plus The right side turn signal appears to be brighter even when the just the headlamps are on? I rechecked all bulbs to make sure they are all 21 watt. Stuck as to what to do next HELP? Jim

Ground wire from flasher relay base may not be making good contact.

check all earth/grounds at all 4 indicators. I have seen some crazy things in the 8 x 911's ive owned, where for example none of the indicators would work properly, with only one ground broken! normally if that indicator has a bad earth/ground then ONLY that light would not work but ive seen some bizarre stuff, so now i always check all 4 corners. You can confirm good ground/earth with a mutlimeter

Tkx I'll ck those grounds. I have been restoring Rolls and Bentleys for some time now and those silly Lucas systems are even worse. Tkx

I got everything working properly now after doing all bulbs and bulb bases and grounds but I still have both green dash indicator light going on when whenever you turn right or left? I have a new blinker control coming on Monday Ill see if that's the problem. Any suggestions?

I've had a bad connection near the front turn signal (I think it was the power line, not ground) cause similar weirdness - bulb socket would show 12v on the multi-meter, put the bulb in and it would not light!

Turned out the weak connector would show voltage to the DMM, but not enough current could get thru to light the light.

Chuck, thats why I redid every socket and all bulbs work only the green dash indicator lights are the problem. Don't know where else to look. Once I change out the blinker control Ill see how it all works and report back. Tkx
