3.6 conversion update part four

Its been awhile so i thought i would give an update, parts chasing can suck, well here goes, i found a set of 993 headers from a fellow pelican, i decided i can do the conversion and put a sensor in it, the problem with the 993 headers is you have to have the catalytic converter to cut the header collectors off, so currently chasing an old cat or collectors, I was all set to buythe Timmins 1395 kit untill i found out this info, the kit gives most of what you want or need, but you really need the power steering delete option, you might as well you have to replace the o-ring while your there 89 dollars more, i looked everywhere for a deal on the air cleaner, everyone else is like 290 might as well buy Timmins cleaner, 140, i really didnt want a chip, a few extra horse doesnt mean anything to me (street car) the stock fly wheel is 45lbs and the kit flywheel is 9lbs, so you need the chip to help the car idle right 325 with kit, you do have to send Timmins your engine tin and rear mount to get altered, this should be in the first part of next week, so while the budget is getting blown to heck i e-mailed widebody and had him send a carbon fiber heater tube 200, Hopefully by next weekend ill have the motor just about ready to install, ill post pictures of the kits and parts as i recieve them, i should be installing the harness tomorrow if its not below 10degrees out side, Please ask as we go, Kevin

Kevin, I'm also going with the 993 exhaust. Harald is shipping them with the 964 motor. He also has adapters to bolt the 993 exhaust onto the 964 that I will be using. What do you mean you "you have to have the catalytic converter to cut the header collectors off"?

How are going to configure the exhaust. ? Cat and muffler or just muffler?

Im not really sure what you have, the cat looks like an x and it bolts to each header, you have to have the two pieces on the cat that bolts to the header, ill find a picture later and post, Kevin

Cat flanges

hallo Kevin
You can also go to a metal Shop and get 2 pieces of 6 mm metal ,
have them cut the hole ( i think 26 mm ) and the 4 8.5mm holes and weld the Tube to it . Every shop who makes handrails has a wide variety of Tubes in different thickness and curves , it will be hard to find a bent 993 Cat .

Kevin,

have you decided what to do for oil cooling yet. I take it you don't want my 993 cooler. I never got a reply.

After my tranny rebuild my old engine is back in the car since I am still short of some parts myself.

Kevin,

I am sourcing parts myself. I never bought one of those kits out there. Right now I am waiting for 993 HE's, collectors, some connectors to make my harness work, a flywheel seal, and some nuts and bolts.

Ok an update, I sent the engine tin and motor mount to Timmins, He reworks them and sends them back with your new parts, well i sent him a wrong part so i have to send another, he says everything is done and ready to ship as soon as I send it, But i did get my heater tube from Tom, (widebody) see picture, its carbon fiber and should do the job, Still waiting on a part from Harald, this weekend the tranny will get cleaned, and ill take my clutch in to get rebuilt, so its the big wait, some of you know i want a speedster, but the wife says no, no, buy a new car, well thats why im playing with this one with the 3.6 and probably a g50 next fall, I wanted a cab, and was gonna buy the sportster rkr top, so my daughter and i went out and cut the targa bar off and made a temporary cab, rkr was outa business, so i found a top and installed it, i just have never liked the way a cab top looks down kinda bulky, I found a used rkr kit and thats my next project, im gonna use thier clam for know but im looking for a c2 clam, heres pictures, i should also have some motor pictures later this week of the motor clean, and saturday a friend and i plan to rework the 993 headers and make header flanges, any questions just ask, Kevin
