The weak point of the drivetrain will for sure be the 915 internals. I would build that as strong as money can and not worry about G50 axles (unless they provide some other benefit?).

We built a 915/63 for a customer mating to a 3.6. Put in a Guard limited slip, Wevo bearing plate and a CMS side cover with Turbo bearing. He's used the car hard and it keeps going. The CMS side cover is beefy and not a factory look. I'd use a 915/73 side cover if that was important.

The G50 axles, which started in 86 on the 915/73, are Turbo size and incorporate the drive shaft/stub axle with the main. CV joints are sealed too.

We will be going with a similar setup, Wevo retainer, side cover and turbo bearing with G50 output flanges machined for 915 and G50 axles, not sure on which lsd yet.

Just took off rear bumper and rocker covers in preparation to fit the new genuine porsche 930 flares. Complete bumper was 53 pounds, I did not weigh the rockers but they have to weigh at least 10 pounds also

Been gone for a bit but back in action now. I forgot to snap some pictures yesterday as I was picking up parts all over town but here is something I picked up from Efren "blackbyrd" before I left. We were going to go 3.6 but Efren had these brand new Mahle 3.8 P&C so the new motor will now be 3.8 :)

Where did you get the brakes?

You can buy the brakes from Porsche, it is less expensive than buying used ones, kind of. Last year I bought a set of used brakes, but to get them back to new would have cost an additional $1,500 plus shipping both ways. For less money I had brand new brakes not restored, which are very nice, but used none the less

FYI IF you don't have a room booked you need to get that done. I just booked last week and there are not a lot of choices left. Most hotels are booked solid. Of course the $1,700.00 per night resorts still have plenty of space if your're into that sort of thing.

Where did you get the center fill gas tank part? What is your intended procedure for that, new tank or utilize the existing? Also curious where you found the yellow lenses. Subscribed.

The yellow lenses are from Eric Linden at Auto Foreign Services.

When I cut the hole for the center fill I will determine if I need to go with a new one or use the existing one.

I got the center fill from a friend, he sourced it in Germany.

Trans being rebuilt with new synchros, dog teeth, wevo bearing retainer plate, wevo side cover with larger differential carrier bearing, precision shift joint, g50 output flanges and g50 axles and lsd.
