Well. The last one he built went for $220k, so there's some precedence here.

Congrats on the sale Dave!

BTW, is there a thread for the yellow car here on Pelican also?

flyn-hawn 12-06-2017 11:54 AM

The chiffon one?

Solid car and flawless execution but I'll file $227k for a backdated SC in the "for those with more money than sense folder". SmileWavy

Congratulations on the sale Dave. It is a stunning car, and worth every penny plus more. I far prefer your build aesthetic over a Singer, and the sale price was less than half. I'd say the buyer got a great deal on a spectacular car, and hopefully it worked out well for you also.

No I actually meant the orange one.

Really enjoyed following this build thread.

What's next?

Congrats on the sale, BTW. I had to chuckle at some of the comments on BAT regarding the selling price. I think one of the comments was right on. Try to build one yourself....

I think way too many people surfing BAT are accustom to seeing vehicles that people drop stupid money into sell for way under the price of the accumulated parts. A well thought out build with a very tight control on quality like your car is proof that the right car will sell to the right person for the right amount of money.

No disrespect Dave, I've enjoyed following this thread and clearly as I stated before the work is flawless and the final product speaks for itself. Maybe it's the fact that I'm not in a position to drop a quarter million dollars on car. I'm sure to some that would be money they can find in their sofa seat cushion and that's great for them.

The only two people affected by a purchase are the buyer and the seller, and if the buyer paid what they paid then that's what the car was worth to them. Doesn't mean that's the value to someone else.

Speaking from experience in rebuilding my car, the guy who bought this car missed out the the real joy that would have made the car worth every penny they paid to buy it, and that's building it with their own hands. I feel sorry for the guy that he didn't get to enjoy that process.

Look forward to your next build.

impressive to build it in just 11 months.
