No, that's Hans Stoehr's car. It's a backdated SC with a recently rebuilt 3.0. It weighs in at about 2100 pounds, thanks to lots of fiberglass and Lexan. He's the guy who graciously towed BB1 the 7 hours back from Laguna Seca after the crash. I got to drive his car (while watching BB1 on the trailer ahead of me), and it convinced me to go with fiberglass in the new version of the car.

His hood flipped up and shattered a couple of weeks ago, and he used BB2's hood for an event at Willow Springs, coming in 2nd in his class.

With your new hood are you going to have race-pins or those traditional RS/RSR style rubber hood holders?

Neither. I plan on using the good ol' fashioned factory latch.

Wouldn't want the thing to look like a 'race car,' would I?

Don't you have to have a bonnet pin to scrutineer in the US?

Just checked the earthcam, where is your car Jack? I do not see how you are able to work, I check the cam 3-4 times a day at work. It must be nice to be at a shop that actually will work on your car!

Nick: not in the groups I run with. I have a set of the tie-downs, though, if it ever comes up.

John: it's out in the sun, curing. And I don't get a whole lot of work done.

Hans was using the early-style tie-downs -- but he forgot to secure them. The factory latch has two levels of protection (and nothing to clutter up the look of the hood).

Hey Jack - I'm behind a firewall here at work, and cannot watch the progress. Any chance you could post the occasional screen cap?

It looks like either the front bumper is being fitted, or he's working on installing the ducting for the front AC vent. The new car came with dealer-installed air, which meant no cutaway in the front hood for the condenser fan. We've cut one out from a 73, and it's going to get welded in.

Jack,
Love watching the progress. I'm trying to get a handle on the order of the re-assembly. Can you give a rundown of the schedule after the paint and when you expect to be back on the street.
Mark

Jack, how the hell do you get anything done? I would be looking slack jawed at my computer screen all day!

I don't get anything done. I'm already a week late on a project I've got to turn in, and it looks like it's going to be another 10 days before I'm done.

Who cares.

I went by Kevin's shop today to drop off the last piece of trim. Here are two views of the still-being-sanded beauty:

Anybody got any 6-inch spacers I can use to fill out those rear fenders?

Looks very smooth, Jack.

Kevin's testing out your cupholders in that first pic, eh?
