What is everyone recommending for LED bulb upgrades for the H5's? And MDKRP1, from what I can find on my search they are plug and play.

Thanks James-
I will look into these as well; please post your experience with them when you can.

Putting LED bulbs in Halogen housings increase glare substantially. There is no evidence to the contrary.

Most people say "well nobody flashes me" as anecdotal support, but it's just justification for not really caring.

I'd love to be proven wrong, as I plan to drop a grand on a set with proper projectors.

Thanks for the info, I will report back how they work out. I typically don't drive at night but on the nights for date night with the wife I would like a bit more light output. Can't really justify dropping a grand on some headlights when 95% of my driving is during the day.

Indeed, I have collector car insurance and was able to register the car without having to pass emissions. Guess I will just store the cat/stock muffler for now. Just awaiting Steve Wong's 91 performance chip to drop into the DME and then have some fun.
I was unaware of this insurance fact when I first purchased my '85, and had it run through emissions. It passed the test, though it has to be hot, hot, hot to pass. My renewal date is in September, so its pretty easy to do that.

I have had LEDs in my 1973 911 for a while and they are fine and glare is not a problem.

I don 't mind if you spend your $1000 on "proper projectors" if that makes you happy.

How do you know glare is not a problem for others on the road?

I would much rather buy cheap bulbs than custom projectors. It is out of courtesy for my fellow motorists that I do not.

When someone has numbers showing that the amount of light above the cutoff is not greater than that of a 55w Halogen in a DOT housing, I will gladly change my position.

Another benefit is it allows you to do a 5 year registration!
